Ohio Cable Stayed Bridge Fabrication

About This Project:

Fabrication of 16ea Fracture Critical Boxes which accompanied the 4 towers for this structure.  After fabrication, the boxes received a metalized coating while the pipe assemblies where galvanized.  Fabrication included complete joint penetration welding for the interior anchorage assemblies for the cabling system, along with full shop assembly of the boxes and guide pipes.  The largest of the boxes was 15’ wide x 5’ deep x 41’ long, weighing 28 ton.  In addition to the boxes, both Kentucky and Ohio plate girder approach spans were fabricated by Wabash Steel, which accounted for an additional 1,217 tons.
